Fall is also harvest season in Southwest Michigan.

A short drive from South Haven takes you past vineyards, orchards, farm markets, and countryside beginning to turn shades of red, orange, and gold.

Spend an afternoon wine tasting at Fenn Valley Vineyards, Modales Wines, Cogdal Vineyards, or Veritas Estate Winery. Pick up fresh apples or cider. Visit a farm market. Take the long way back to South Haven just because the drive is beautiful.

Then park the car and leave it there.

South Haven doesn't stop being South Haven when summer ends.

Downtown's restaurants, shops, breweries, coffee spots, and local businesses are still part of the experience, just at a more relaxed pace. Some businesses begin adjusting their hours as the season progresses, but there's still plenty happening around town.
